How to Plan a Week of Content in Just 1 Hour (and Actually Make It Work)

How to Plan a Week of Content in Just 1 Hour (and Actually Make It Work)

Posting randomly when you "feel inspired" isn't a strategy. And it's not helping you grow.

If you're a business owner, you've probably said at least one of these:

"I don't know what to post." "I don't have time for this." "I know I should be more consistent, but..." "My content doesn't even feel like me."

The problem isn't that you're not trying. The problem is that no one's shown you how to create content with a plan that saves you time and actually gets results.

Here's how to change that with just one hour a week.

The 1-Hour Weekly Content Plan

Step 1: Know what you're trying to say (10 minutes)

Start with your content pillars. These are the 3-5 themes that support your brand and the things you want to be known for. If you don't have these nailed down yet, [check out my post on 3 Steps to Start Building Your Content Strategy].

Step 2: Brain dump post ideas (10 minutes)

Under each content pillar, jot down a few ideas. They don't need to be perfect. Think of this as your idea bank that you can pull from anytime.

Step 3: Choose 2-3 posts for the week (10 minutes)

Pick a mix from your list. Make sure they reflect your brand voice and speak to what your audience actually needs to hear.

Step 4: Write quick captions (20 minutes)

Don't overthink it. Use a simple format:

Hook. Value or insight. Call to action (even if it's just "save this for later").

That's it. Three lines. Done.

Step 5: Plug it into a scheduler or calendar (10 minutes)

Done. You just planned a week's worth of strategic, branded content in one hour.

One more thing.

Content is only effective when it looks and sounds like you. If you're piecing together Canva templates, selfies, and outdated iPhone photos, your message is getting lost in the visuals. That's where brand photography comes in. It gives you a library of on-brand, high-quality images that are ready to use across every platform.

And if you'd rather not touch strategy or scheduling ever again? That's literally what I do.

Ready to stop winging it?

Book a strategy session and let's build your plan together. Or if you want the whole thing off your plate, let's talk about brand photography and done-for-you social media management.

Let's make your content work for you. Not stress you out.
