How to Plan a Week of Content in Just 1 Hour (and Actually Make It Work)

Let’s be real: posting randomly when you “feel inspired” isn’t a strategy—and it’s not helping you grow.

If you’re a business owner, you’ve probably said at least one of these:

  • “I don’t know what to post.”

  • “I don’t have time for this.”

  • “I know I should be more consistent, but…”

  • “My content doesn’t even feel like me.”

I hear this from clients every week. The problem isn’t that you’re not trying. The problem is that no one’s shown you how to create content with a strategy that saves you time and gets results.

Here’s how to change that—with just one hour a week.

The 1-Hour Weekly Content Plan

Step 1: Know what you're trying to say (10 minutes) Start with your content pillars—the 3–5 themes that support your brand. These are the things you want to be known for. (Check out my Blog post on 3 Steps to Start Building Your Content Strategy)

Step 2: Brain dump post ideas (10 minutes) Under each content pillar, jot down a few ideas. These don’t need to be perfect! Think of it as your idea bank.

Step 3: Choose 2-3 posts for the week (10 minutes) Pick a mix from your list. Make sure they reflect your brand voice and speak to what your audience needs to hear.

Step 4: Write quick captions (20 minutes) Don’t overthink it. Use a simple format like:

  • Hook

  • Value or insight

  • Call to action (even if it’s “save this for later”)

Step 5: Plug it into a scheduler (I like Planoly) or calendar (10 minutes) Done. You just planned a week’s worth of strategic, branded content in an hour.

Pro Tip: Content is only effective when it looks and sounds like you.

If you're piecing together Canva graphics, selfies, and outdated iPhone photos, your message might be getting lost. That’s where branding photography comes in—it gives you content that’s on-brand, high quality, and ready to use.

And if you’d rather not touch strategy or scheduling again?🙋‍♀️ That’s literally what I do.
